Over the weekend at Seriosuly Scrapbooking, I taught this cute little shadow box.
The Shadow Box is a design I have done for Imaginarium Designs and all the little chipboards are ID as well. A perfect little display case for bits of ephemera.

So today it's my turn to show a few things that I have created this month over at Imaginarium Designs.

'You are my Everything'

This is a page I created for an upcoming class at Seriously Scrapbooking here in Adelaide.
All the ID have been coated in gesso for that crisp white look. The title {which was was designed by me! has not been released yet} has a light spray of chalkboard Glimmermist to add just a touch of color.

Over at Once Upon A...Sketch, we are nearing the end of our first year and during this time we have noticed a huge amount of support from many countries around the world and we are incredibly lucky that our challenges are supported by so many people from all different parts of the globe.

One of these countries is Greece, and we have come to realise that we receive many entries from such a small country where scrapbooking is so new, so we had a think and decided to team up with another challenge blog based in Greece and run by our very own Irini Liolia called Get Creative. How exciting!!

We have decided to become "sister" blogs, because let's face it...most of us scrapping are women and is there anything stronger than a sisterhood? So for this month only, the Design Team from Once Upon A..Sketch are guests over at Get Creative and taking part in their 1st and 15th of the month challenges and the Design Team from Get Creative are guests on Once Upon A..Sketch!

A Page .... A guest teacher and a sneak ...

Day 19 of the Photo A Day Challenge .....

Sweet ...

Last night I made this gorgeous Strawberry & Almond crumble
It's a Nigella Lawson recipe.
FAR OUT it was good!

This is a crumble of dreams. This is nothing short of alchemy: you take the vilest, crunchiest supermarket strawberries, top them with an almondy, buttery rubble, bake and turn them on a cold day into the taste of English summer. Naturally, serve with lashings of cream: I regard this is as obligatory, not optional.
For this recipe you will need 1 ovenproof pie dish approximately 21cm/10in diameter x 4cm/2in deep (approx. 1.25 litre/2 pints capacity).

Ingredients

For the filling

500g/1lb 2oz strawberries, hulled
50g/2oz caster sugar
25g/1oz ground almonds
4 tsp vanilla extract

For the topping

110g/4oz plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
75g/3oz cold butter, diced
100g/3½oz flaked almonds
75g/3oz demerara sugar
double cream, to serve

Preparation method

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Put the hulled strawberries into your pie dish (I use a round one) and sprinkle over the sugar, almonds and vanilla extract. Give the dish a good shake or two to mix the ingredients.
Now for the crumble topping: put the flour and baking powder in a mixing bowl and rub in the cold, diced butter between thumb and fingers (or in a freestanding mixer or food processor). When you’ve finished, it should resemble rough, pale oatmeal.
Stir in the flaked almonds and demerara sugar with a fork.
Tip the topping over the strawberry filling, covering the strawberries in an even layer and pressing the topping in a little at the edges of the dish.
Set the dish on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 30 minutes, by which time the crumble topping will have darkened to a pale gold and some pink-red juices will be seeping and bubbling out at the edges.
Leave to stand for 10 minutes before serving, and be sure to put a jug of chilled double cream on the table alongside.

Childhood ...

It took me all day to come up with this photo.

I've been thinking about my childhood a lot in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday my Uncle Jim passed away suddenly on his farm in Arno Bay.

We spent many a weekend and school holidays on the farm with my cousins, playing in the sheds, fishing down on the beach and generally hanging out.

I'm really sad Uncle Jim has gone. He was 68 years old. That's way too young. My heart aches for Aunty Anne.

I couldn't photograph what I really wanted to .... the entrance to their driveway - it has many a memory for me ... so I took this photo of our teddys.

The yellow one is mine - my mum bought it for me shortly after I was born - Ted is 37 years old!

The blue one is Trev's from his childhood - 38 years old!

Both Teds sit on our show cupboard behind our bedroom door.

Jessica is 8 years and 6 months old.

In the last month she has read about 6 books.

Christmas Day she was given 3 books - read them all in 4 days.

She is now onto the Harry Potter series.

She is reading them thoroughly cause she coming to me asking questions and telling me all about the story.

Had a spare couple of hours this afternoon so decided to have a go at the escape to create challenge!
Thought it would be pretty funny to scraplift myself but decided to scraplift Kate Mason instead!
I was inspired by her collage background for this project.

I used Imaginarium Designs 12x12 chipboard for my background instead of cardstock, used Imaginarium dress form and title as well.

I love the results!

Something you Adore ...

Well... obviously I adore my husband and my daughter but I also Adore my job.
I am lucky enough to work in Adelaide's best scrapbooking shop, Seriously Scrapbooking, with the most AMAZING bunch of women who are clever, inspiring, strong and super supportive. Our customers are just great and so clever. I go to work and I am appreciated. I go to work and I smile ALL DAY.

Journalling Criteria/theme:

New Years Eve!

How did you celebrate New Year's Eve 2011? We would love to hear what you did on December 31st or on the date you celebrate New Year's Eve this year or you can tell us about your most memorable New Year's Eve. Where were you? Who were you with? Even if you stayed at home in your pyjamas, we would still like to hear all about it! Note: the photo that you use for this challenge does not have to necessarily be from New Years Eve. For example, if you spent New Years Eve with your family you can have a photo of your family taken ANY time of the year.

This is what I did with this gorgeous sketch.

I used some gorgeous Imaginarium Designs Chipboards of course

To colour the chipboard, I used Copic Markers and the Airbrush System. I am LOVING using Copics and airbrushing with them takes away the mess that Glimmermist often makes! Loving the effect!

We eat healthy and well but there are no gourmet meals in this home!

Each year I make a couple of sweet things around the festive period.
This year I made Rock Road and Oreo Truffles.
Both got rave reviews!

So here are the two yummy recipes

WARNING ..... INCREDIBLY HIGH IN CALORIES BUT TASTES REALLLLLLLY GOOD!

NAT'S ROCKY ROAD

Mini marshmallows
Raspberry lollies
Roasted Macadamia Nuts roughly chopped
Craisins (driend Cranberries)
Milk chocolate

{up to you what quantity you like of each item}

Mix all these ingredients together and place in a lined baking tray.
I melt milk chocolate over a double boiler - it never goes well for me in the microwave - I use a couple of packets of Nestle Melts - we LIKE chocolate.
Once melted, pour over mixture, bang a couple of time on the bench to get out all the air bubbles, sprinkle with Hundreds and Thousands then refrigerate.

Before cutting, leave out for half an hour so the chocolate does not shatter!
ENJOY!

This second recipe I stumbled upon thru Pinterest.

I have NEVER made anything that actually looks like the picture once I've made it and I was pretty impressed with these!

OREO TRUFFLES

2 packets of Oreos
250g cream cheese, softened
White Dipping chocolate

Chop Oreos up finely in a food processor. Save some of the finely crushed Oreos for garnish later and set it aside. You don't need too much.

Add the softened cream cheese to the food processor and crushed Oreos until well combined, turn out into a bowl then mix thru with a spoon to make sure it's well mixed.

Roll into 1" balls and place on baking paper. Put in freezer for 15 minutes.

While balls are in freezer, melt chocolate according to directions.

Pull the Oreo Truffles out of freezer, and dip into chocolate. I put a tooth pick in each one to make the dipping cleaner and easier. Garnish with reserved Oreo crumbs before the chocolate sets up.

Let chocolate set, refrigerate, pull out toothpicks and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy these as much as my friends and family did!

So I had a little free time today and scrapped this gorgeous palette from The Color Room

The background is actually Tim Holtz Kraft resist paper which I sprayed in Black Matte Spray paint.
It gave a really velvet finish that didn't photograph very well :(

The Imaginarium Designs Chipboard is coated in Gesso - I loved doing this page!

It's Christmas ......

Thought I'd share a couple of Christmassy things in our home .....

Each year Jess and I make a Gingerbread House.
Actually, we decorate a Gingerbread House!
We do a trip to Ikea, purchase the pre-made kit, then come home and put it together! The inside of the house is filled with chocolate lollies! The roof is made from Freckles lollies and white chocolate with a couple of Rocky Road trees out the front!

Christmas Eve at our big celebration, we put it in the middle of the table and smash it!

Miss Jess received a gift from my beautiful 'other mum' Kathy - a Crystal Garden - Jess LOVES this and every morning races out to see how much it has grown over night.

Last night I used some Hambly washi tape, 7Gypsie tape and Tim Hooltz tape to cover this little reindeer! I coated it in Goosebumps (spray glossy accents) then lightly sprinkled it in superfine Glitter!

I think he looks really nice next to the rest of our Chrissy bits!

My amazing husband built the desk into the corner for me.

Gotta love the IKEA bookcase - perfect for scrapbookers!

Built in robes have been customized for my storage

A couple of cards and a layout ...

A month or so ago, one of my lovely friends and co-worker, Sam had a birthday.
Sam is an absolutely beautiful person, very generous and kind and has a killer sense of humor.
I HAD to make her a special card for her Birthday!
The Webster's Papers were sitting on my desk ......so off I went .... .. I was really pleased with the way this easel card turned out and so was Sam! I used some Imaginarium Designs Chipboard and a few Prima flowers too.

While we are on cards, a long time friend recently had her first child. Little Ari was born in November and this is the card I created for her. Again, I used Prima and some Imaginarium Designs Chipboard which I coated in super fine glitter.

And finally, here is a page I taught last week. This will be available in the new year as a kit to buy online at Seriously Scrapbooking.

Is it just me or is this time of the year totally crazy?

Now December has hit, the parties, functions, end of year do's .... it's busy busy busy!

This coming Saturday (December 10th) I have decided to teach these two gorgeous Websters Pages!

Webster's Pages for the month of December!

Woooo Hooooo!

I am absolutely thrilled {and a little nervous} to be part of this elite team for this month!
The wonderful staff at Webster's sent me some of their besutiful papers and embellishments to create with.

With the gorgeous Winter Fairy Tales range, I created these projects ...

This first page, I have used a TCW mask with gesso on the background along with a little 'fussy cutting' and the rather cute Webster's feather flower.

I love this next one ... this photo of Jess just makes my heart melt! She is such a dag! I used Imaginarium Designs Chipboard for the fence and vine with the super cute Webster's cameo pin and a Sparkler featured as well.

For this page, I used an ivory 2.75' multi-petal flower but altered the color with Glimmermist to match the papers. I also used Glimmermist to lightly add some colour to the Butterfly pin.

I made a couple of cards too ....

The Bloomers were perfect to create a cluster for my spiral roses to sit in and I think the Webster's gems work well too!

And this bright purple paper matched the Princess Petal flower so well. I removed the pearl and added the Silhouette to the centre.

And the stunning Botanical Christmas range was simply devine to play with!

This Christmas range suited this photo so well! I punched a lace border and adhered it all the way around the die cut paper. The Imaginarium Designs Chipboard has been painted and glittered to match! I used one of the Fabric Tickets to create a little tag too!

This last layout is the favourite from this set. I truly LOVE creating texture on layouts and adore the way it can create movement on the page. These photos definatley needed that touch! I created a large flower using the beautiful Bloomers and Glubers! The chipboard is Imaginarium Designs which I personally designed!

Again, I made a few cards too with this range!

A simple gate fold card and then using the Spellbinder Cutting Die, created a paper flower as a feature with a Websters Sparkler in the centre!

The door on the "Come On In" paper was perfect for a peek-a-boo card. The door lifts open to reveal an image of Santa! I teamed it up with chipboard from Imaginarium Designs .

And lastly, I made a few little baubles using the Spellbinders dies, cut a shape using the Sizzix die cut and adhered some of the gorgeous Websters gems!

For this sketch, I went a little grunge!

Totally inspired by my scrappy bestie Louise Nelson {{who has just been announced as a 2012 Scrapbooking Memories MASTER plus the Aussie addition to the Tattered Angels DT}}, I used Imaginarium Designs chipboard hessian which was designed by Lou and used it over some Studio Calico paper, covered it in dress patterns and then used TCW mask to create a design. The flowers are made with The Tim Holtz glassine paper - love this effect! The journalling talks about Christmas with our best friends!

So today I had a busy day.

I just got home for doing a class with the amazing Miss Louise Nelson learning how to make our own stamps! OMG!!! Why did I not do this earlier????

I LOVED this soo much.

So this first LO was created using thin foam stamp which I drew straight onto the foam and cut ...
Kinda cool hey!!!!

And this one was cut on a block and was inspired by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer who last week reposted on her blog how to do Chevron design stamps. The word "YOU" I made too ... hand wrote the word then cut it out into a stamp! How cool!!

So thanks Miss Louise for this ... I cant wait to make some more!

Also this morning I held a Cuttlebug/Big Shot workshop making Christmas Cards.

I am reading... the daily paper - The Advertiser - have not had a chance to pick up my book in weeks

This gorgeous sketch this month has some super easy Journaling Criteria .... What is the best thing about being a a woman? Focus on yourself or a woman in your life. Must be at least 2 sentences.

Here is my take on the sketch ...

I used a Tim Holtz cardstock for my background and the using my new fave The Crafters Workshop mask, created a simple background. I cut an Ornamental shape on the Sizzix then embossed it with a cute Doily stamp with Zing embossing powder. The Imaginarium Designs Butterflies and title have been Glimmermisted to suit.

Journaling reads ..... *I get to wear red lippy *It's OK to change my outfit 5 times before going out *I don't need excuse to buy another handbag!

How to apply:
Please send your Design Team Application to: sales@imaginariumdesigns.com.au
with the following:
1. A link to your blog with the most recent post being 10 of your favourite projects featuring chipboard - you do not need to use Imaginarium Designs Chipboard but your projects MUST show a versatile use of chipboard. They do not need to be new or unseen projects - they need to be your favourites!
2. Tell us your favorite way to use chipboard
3. Tell us a little something about yourself including any design team history
4. A link to your online galleries
5. Your name, address, telephone number and email address

The Design Team Call is open as of Tuesday November 8th and will close end of day (Australian time) on Monday December 12th.

The new Design Team will be notified shortly after and start the new term January 1st 2012.

We can't wait to see our Inbox flooded with your applications and really do encourage everyone to have a go and send them in.

Good morning

So now that it's officially November, I can show off a few of the cards I made for the Big Shot/Cuttlebug Class I taught on Saturday. I just couldn't bring myself to show these to you in October!
All of these cards were made using the Cuttlebug and compatible dies!

Also today the new Once Upon A Sketch challenge has gone up.

Journalling Criteria: This time you need to journal at least 2 SENTENCES on WHEN you started scrapping and WHY....

Here is my take on the challenge....

We have an amazing Guest Designer - Leeann Pearce and the design team have done to most incredible job with this sketch.
Make sure you head over there and have a go - the PRIZES are amazing!
